Welcome to Klaeri. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Klaeri website, browser extension, and related services (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
What Klaeri is
Klaeri is an ingredient transparency and education platform. It helps you access and understand publicly available regulatory and scientific information about ingredients in consumer products. Klaeri does not provide medical advice and does not make safety claims about any product or ingredient. Please also review our Disclaimer.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your region, to create an account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date
Free and paid plans
Klaeri offers a free plan and a paid Klaeri+ plan ($4.99/month), as well as a Business API. Paid features are described at the point of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute Klaeri data except through the Business API under a separate agreement
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Misrepresent Klaeri database mentions as safety endorsements or medical conclusions
Information accuracy
Klaeri references publicly available regulatory and scientific literature. While we make reasonable efforts to keep our database accurate and current, regulatory findings change over time and our coverage may not always reflect the most recent updates. The Service is provided for educational purposes only and the presence of an ingredient in a database does not mean a product is unsafe.
Product recommendations and affiliate links
Any product comparisons or recommendations are based on ingredient database comparison only and are not endorsements. Klaeri may earn affiliate commissions on purchases made through links we display. Paid placements are clearly disclosed.
Intellectual property
Klaeri and its branding, design, and original content are owned by Klaeri. Underlying regulatory and scientific information is sourced from public databases and remains the property of its respective owners. You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Klaeri does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that ingredient information will be complete or current. Nothing in the Service constitutes medical advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Klaeri is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on information provided through the Service. Always consult a qualified professional for health-related decisions.
Label Club and content you post
You own what you write. By posting in Label Club you give Klaeri a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and share your post within the service. You can delete your posts at any time.
You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. Don't post anything false, defamatory, hateful, harassing, unlawful, spammy, or that infringes someone else's rights. Do not post medical advice, diagnose anyone, or tell another member what is safe for their body or their child — point them to a qualified professional instead.
We review posts before they appear and may edit, refuse, or remove any content, or suspend an account, at our discretion — particularly anything that makes unverified claims about a named brand or product. Klaeri does not endorse and is not responsible for opinions expressed by members; those are the views of the people who wrote them, not statements by Klaeri.
Third-party and community-sourced product data
Some product names, images and ingredient lists come from third-party and openly editable community databases (such as Open Beauty Facts / Open Food Facts). That information is created by third parties, not by Klaeri, and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. We label it as community-sourced wherever we display it. Klaeri makes no representation that any such third-party listing is correct, and it should never be read as Klaeri's statement about a product or brand.
Report an error or request a correction
If you are a brand, manufacturer, or member of the public and you believe something shown on Klaeri about a product or ingredient is inaccurate, outdated, or misattributed, please tell us at hello@klaeri.com. We take corrections seriously, will review promptly, and will correct or remove information that is shown to be wrong. The same address can be used for intellectual-property or takedown requests.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Klaeri harmless from claims, damages and costs arising out of content you post or your misuse of the service.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Klaeri and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached, if it's necessary to protect other members or the service, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) will survive.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Texas. Nothing here removes consumer-protection rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
