🔬So we did what anyone would: we started researching. And we kept hitting the same wall. The real information exists — the FDA, the EU's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety, the WHO's cancer research agency, Health Canada and others publish detailed findings on these ingredients. But it lives in dense PDFs and technical databases no shopper is going to read between picking up milk and checking out.

So instead of handing you a chemistry-textbook definition that leaves you nodding politely and still confused, we say the human version: "it's basically the stuff that makes shampoo foam," or "often used in products for sensitive skin."
